Save Silsoe Scout Group
Message from the Scouting group:
'We are at breaking point. Without an immediate influx of new adult volunteers, the Silsoe Scout Group will be forced to close.
For several years, we helped Silsoe's children build confidence, learn new skills and make lifelong friends. Now due to a critical shortage of leaders and helpers, that legacy is about to end .
This isn't just an appeal for help – it's a final call to save our group.
HOW YOU CAN STOP CLOSURE
You don't need to be an outdoor expert or a "survivalist". We need everyday people who care about our village and our children.
The One-Hour Hero : Help run a simple game or craft once a week
The Admin Whizz: Help us with emails or bookings from the comfort of your sofa
The Skill Sharer: Got a Hobby ? Come and show our young people for one session
The Tea & Support Star: Help keep things organised and safe while activities are running .
The Impact of Closing
If we close dozens of local children in our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts section will lose their weekly sessions, their badges and their adventures. We also have over 50 children on our waiting lists who will also miss out . Once a Scout group closes it is very difficult to bring back.
No Experience? No Problem
We provide full training and cover all costs (including DBS checks ) . All we ask is for a little bit of your time and your enthusiasm.
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW
Please don't assume someone else will do it. If you want Scouting to remain a part of Silsoe village life, we need to hear from you today.
